My wife appropriated my Sony point and shoot for her permanent use and since my digital SLR is an EOS Rebel, I decided to stick with Canon. I am no great photographer and mostly use my cameras as a means to an end which is painting. The size of this camera is perfect for me. Much bigger than the Sony but still small enough to fit in a pocket. I really like the LCD screen that turns around to protect it or flips out like a video camera and also rotates to fold into the back slot and then is used like most p & S cameras. Most functions are similar to the EOS and are easy to use and see. Not that it makes much difference but I love the look and feel of this camera…..slightly retro and a little weight to it. Feels substantial. A nice balance between a p & s and an DSLR. A little pricey but worth the investment.

Great little camera for a novice like me who just wants to point and shoot and the experienced photographer who wants to choose the settings. This camera received high recommendations from several sources my husband consulted before purchasing this camera as a gift to me.
